about
“Rooftop” is another outtake from The Droge & Summers Blend. Blend, as I call it, is my side project with Elaine Summers. We were active from 2008 until 2015. We released two EPs. We aborted work on a third EP when my chronic fatigue issues began in the fall of 2015.
"Rooftop" is the second in a series of singles leading up to a 13-song collection of outtakes, demos, alternate versions and one new song. The Droge & Summers Blend Sessions aka Volume Three will be released on 11/24/23 (Black Friday.)

Sitting up on this rooftop
Looking down at the town lights
Nothing is familiar
Though I've been here my whole life
If seeing is believing
Well then I must've been blind
Stumbling in the darkness
For whatever I find
CHORUS
I could never reach you
You were always out of sight
I will never hold you
You're the stardust in the light
Drift away, drift away
Sitting up on this rooftop
'Bout as close as I could get
Reveling in the stillness
Like a new statuette
Will I ever feel forgiveness?
Or must I only pretend?
If nothing is forever
How will I know when it ends?
REPEAT CHORUS

My wife and I have spent countless days sitting on the patio listening to music from Pete and Elaine. This third edition of the blend will be in heavy rotation for years to come. As a musician its fascinating to hear demos of old favorites such as Island. Chief Distortion Officer
